Ending Evaluation

For this past Term in I.t, my class has been working on a project about Global Issues. The first step before even starting the project was to talk about the Design Cycle on our blogger. I realized that you needed to accomplish all 5 parts of the Design Cycle because if any of the 5 are missing, the project would not of been completed. The 5 steps are;

• Investigation- You research about your topic.
  
• Plan- You plan about what you are going to do in the Design and Create Stage
  
• Design- You design what you are going to make in the create stage.
  
• Create- You create your brochure.
• Evaluate- It is like a Conclusion, you evaluate how good and how bad you do things.

I first made my iWeb and I added many picture of war to advertise that we need to stop conflict. I also added a lot of information and many popular questions that many students in my class liked an answer to. Once done my iWeb I went on to making my brochure. This brochure only took one lesson because I basically put all my information from my iWeb into my brochure. If I ever did this project again I would of like to improve on my iWeb because I did not have enough time to correct all my spelling and gramar.

Today (31.05.09) I accomplished to finish my brochure and ext lesson I will be starting my evaluation.

Today (28.05.09)I recorded and added pictures to my voice thread, next lesson I will be starting by brochure.

Conflict Resolution is the methods and process of negotiation, arbitration ( a form of alternative dispute resolution), and institution building which promote the peaceful ending of social conflict and war.
Conflict resolution is important because a lot of conflict is happening around the world and if we did not have any type of resolution to this problem, everyone would be dead in a matter of a year. By having conflict resolution , the world everyday is getting a little bit closer to a peaceful world.
Conflict resolution is needed because many people have had ENOUGH of fighting around the world and peoples lives being crushed for no reason. What really annoys me is that presidents around the world are STILL sending troops to Iraq and other places in the middle east for war. I think that if presidents stopped sending troops, that the war would slowly stop.
If the world did not have conflict resolution, everything would be mad. !! No one would have resources to look out for.
Peace Keeping is as defined by the United Nations, is "a way to help countries torn by conflict create conditions for sustainable peace.
We can help stop conflict by advertising on the internet, in newspaper on sign on the street and many more. Protesting is something that could be dangerous but sometimes it does help stop certain global issues.
Things tat have helped to stop conflict would be , Negotiation, Community Buildings Activism, Advocacy, Counseling, Mediation and Critical Pedagogy.
Many people are effected by conflict including children, adults, elderly, troops, soldier and many more. Even new born baby get effected by this crucial case.

BLOG 3- 12 Gobal Issues

. Global warming/Climate Change : A process that raises the air temperature in the lower atmosphere due to heat trapped by greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, methane and many more.

2. Biodiversity and ecosystem losses: The variety of life in all its forms, levels and combinations. Includes ecosystem, species and genetic diversity.

3. Fisheries depletion: Is when humans fish too much and of pollution killing all the fish.

4. Deforestation: The loss of forests due to over cutting of trees. One consequence of deforestation is soil erosion, which results in the loss of protective soil cover and the water-holding capacity of the soil.

5. Water deficits: Water Crisis is a term that refers to the status of the world’s water resources relative to human demand.

6. The Oceans - Maritime safety and pollution: It keeps track of oil spills. It has always been recognized that the best way of improving safety at sea is by developing international regulations that are followed by all shipping nations.

7. Poverty - Massive step-up in the fight against poverty: The state of living on less than $2 a day, according to the World Bank. Also means having an income that is equal to or less than those established by the Office of Management and Budget as poverty level.

8. Conflict Resolution - Peacekeeping, conflict prevention, combating terrorism: A process of resolving a dispute or disagreement.

9. Education - Education for all: Education has both the teaching and learning of knowledge, proper conduct, and technical competency. It then focuses on the making of skills, trades or professions, as well as mental, moral & aesthetic development.

10. Diseases - Global infectious diseases: A disease is an abnormal condition of an organism that impairs bodily functions and can be deadly.

11. Digital Divide: The term digital divide refers to the gap between those people with effective access to digital and information technology and those without.

12. Natural Disaster prevention and mitigation: any natural phenomenon that causes great damage and loss of life; the emergency situation that is the consequence of such an event.

Guided Research Questions for our Investigation:

A. How can we use the Internet (www) to communicate and problem-solve global issues and the environment that are impacting our world today to a wider audience? How can we make a difference? By using the internet the world can communicate about global issues by informing people about these issues using website like piczo, i web and myspace. People search these sites for information on how to help solve these global issues. online magazines and news articles also advertize bout many organizations and what they need to help. Bloggers and chat rooms about these issues also advertize about the criticle needs of that certain organization. Internet donations also help many fund sites which these donations go toward many charities and oganizations.



























B. How can I make use of established and emerging WWW tools to support online publication?
By using tools such as facebook and myspace, these sites advertise many organizations. What is great about this, is that since these two sites and many more are very popular which then means more views of these issues will be shown.





































C. What are the best tools to use for effective communication online?
I think overall the best site for searching for different charaties and global issues would be facebook since over 10 millions people are members of facebook which then advertizes the best since their are so many users.


D. How can the Internet be used to help a community solve an environmental issue? The internet can be used to create posters and any type of thing that can be used to advertise many environmental issues.

Investigating helps you understand what you are researching during the project.
Plan is when you draw or write many "Drafts" for the project.
Design is when you finally choose you final design for the create stage.
Create is when you actually accomplish the project by creating for example a poster or power point.
Evaluate is when you write a conclusion by writing advantages and disadvantages.
